Hurricane Katrina

Greetings all,

By now I'm sure that everyone has seen and heard of the devastation in Southern Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama from Hurricane Katrina. Due to the fact that I have no idea when I will be able to return to my house in New Orleans, I am back at home. If anyone needs me, please feel free to call me here at 252-261-1402, since New Orleans numbers obviously aren't working right now.

If you lived in the path of the rising waters and 150 mph winds as well, I'm so sorry. Nothing, in my mind, could have prepared us for this complete and total devastation. I know some of you have lost your homes, but I just pray that everyone is safe, and that you will all somehow find the strength to rebuild when the waters do eventually subside.

New Orleans has become a pathetic, toxic bowl of dirty water, destroyed homes, desperate people, and dangerous people who are sickeningly taking advantage of this crisis. It is a shell of what it once was, and who knows if that will ever be restored? For those of you who live in an area that wasn't affected by the storm, please pray for the city and it's residents, and please do anything you can to help, whether it's giving money, donating blood, donating supplies, or helping with the evacuees in your town.

Let's use this resource as a way to tell about our thoughts regarding this situation, and if you live in New Orleans, to let us know you are safe. On a more technical note, monthly reports are suspended until further notice. If you want to send it in and you are able to, great, but if not, of course that's fine, too.

Wishing you all the best in this horrible time,
Jenny
