Hello LaMissTenn!

Well here we are in August already, gearing up for next weekend's Summer Rally event as well as the beginning of the semester for all of us. What has been going on and what is coming up next, you ask? Well, read on and find out!

Just last night, our governor, Rebecca Fox, returned from Kiwanis District Convention in Memphis, where she was accompanied by Natchez Trace LTG, Tucker Leigh. I am sure she will log in to give you an update of those events in the near future.

With Summer Rally comes distribution of our first bulletin of the year. Bulletin Editor, Lisa Ashby of UTM has been working hard on getting submissions in and the layout ready to go. I would like to take a moment to thank those board and cabinet members who submitted to the bulletin before the deadline. Rebecca, Tucker, Lauren Call, Ralph Johnson, Candace Griffin, Chassidy DuPont and Michael Arcement. Lisa did extend the deadline from August 1 to August 5, so if you have not already submitted, please do so today!

In other news, Michael has created a member community for the district website. You can become a member of the community by going to the resources section of the website and signing up. This is a great way to participate in forums and to communicate with other members. Michael has also created some LMT and CKI logos to use as buddy icons on AIM. If you are interested, those are also available under resources. Thanks Michael for all that you do!

Other cabinet news includes the Kiwanis Career Contacts (KC2) that Chassiy DuPont has been organizing. Thanks to her hard work, Rebecca brought with her to Kiwanis DCON several handouts and information sheets that will help CKI'ers pair up with Kiwanians in the career field they are interested in. For more information on this program, contact Chassidy at cdupon1@lsu.edu and look out for information this fall!

Please note that Kiwanis Family Day at Six Flags is Sept 13. Registration and money is due to Dave Harvey on August 20. If you are considering going, check out the information and registration sheet on the website under resources.

The August mailing will be available at Summer Rally to all presidents. If you are not attending Summer Rally this year, your copy will be sent out on August 18th. If you have anything to contribute, I will need it no later than August 12th.

That is all for my Monday update! Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more information coming soon!
