Hi guys!

Happy Mardi Gras! (it's late, but the thought is what counts).. I hope you all had a great break!

I spent a portion of this last weekend in Jena, LA for the Piney Hills Divisional Rally. LTG Tasha did a great job planning the rally and fun was had by all who attended. We had a great home-cooked meal, and discussed communication and leadership styles. We decorated baggies and filled them with toys (play doh, airplanes, bouncy balls, stickers, and chalkboards, to name a few) and donated them to a local children's hospital- and finally, we went to the park and playground for some good ole' fashioned CKI fun. I had a terriffic time there and I know everyone who participated did as well. Props to NSU for sending so many people!

Wednesday I had the pleasure of speaking at Third District Kiwanis- who sponsors my CKI at Loyola University. They rock! Trustee Doug happened to be passing through town, so he was there as well. We had a great time & really enjoyed ourselves. Thanks to 3rd District for having us!

This next weekend I will be travelling to Bayou South for their Divisional Rally. Saturday at noon the activities begin, with the rally itself from 12-3, (be sure to catch my leadership session). After that we'll hang out and probably make some samples for our Service project at District Convention- and then it's onto the LSU Dance (Black & White attire) that night. Sunday we will head even further into cajun land as we go to the UL benefit concert from 2-8pm. I hope to see many of you there!

There are only 21 days to District Convention, and we are working hard to make sure that it is one of the greatest ever! I just found out today that Rock N Roll was officially founded in Memphis in 1954.. so folks, that makes THIS year- when we are there, the 50th anniversary of Rock N Roll in the city where it started. Cool, huh? Even more of a reason to go!

Finally.. we were featured on the Circle K website (as well as in the magazine) about our enormous efforts in fundraising for the Tomorrow Fund. How cool is it that they are telling other districts that they should take a hint from us? And, the article says $1200 (which apparently they thought was impressive) when we have really raised $1700, and combined with our efforts at the end of last year is $2750. We rock!

That's it for now! Hope to see you guys in Bayou South this weekend, Gulf Coast the weekend after that, and Natchez Trace the weekend after that! Peace Out!
