07-08 LMT CKI Beginning!

Hey guys!

I am definitely looking forward to a great Circle K year, and I hope you are too!

Remember SERVICE is our main goal. Let's strive to help as many people as we can in this coming year and perform as much service as we are able.

Let's get A LOT of interclubs. If we all work together, we can achieve more. Also, don't forget to involve Kiwanis and Key Clubs. We are a K-Family! :)

As far as membership goes, we need to retain all the members we have. PLUS, every current member needs to invite and get at least ONE member to join. If everyone did that, our district would double in size. Imagine how much service could be accomplished. Imagine how much fellowship and fun we would have!

If anyone would like to help build new clubs, let someone on the board know! We need all the help and support we can get. LTG's will be selecting someone from their division to help especially with this. Join these committees and help our district's potential blossom into amazing reality!

That's all for now, but CONGRATS to the new 07-08 district board:
Secretary-Treasurer Gavin Robert
Bulletin Editor Roxie James
Bayou South LTG Amy Usner
Delta Central LTG Krystle Holliday
Gulf Coast LTG Justin Quarles
Piney Hills LTG Jennifer Kaup

Be sure to apply for the 07-08 district cabinet. If you need an application, let me know!

More to come soon..

Possible Help

Hi all,

I received this touching email today:

Jenny,

Constant prayers are flowing for those millions affected by Katrina, but on a practical way most also need the basics, so here is my little offer: If any of your friends, like those mentioned on your e-mail, are willing to travel to Lake Worth, Florida, I have room in my house for up to three for as long as they are in need. I will provide housing, food, public schooling for minors, and all basic necessities. They can stay with me at my home as long as necessary without any cost or obligation. Young or old, black or white, male or female, Christian or not, this offer is open to any as long as they come with your personal recommendation. For obvious reasons I don't want a complete estranger in my house unless recommended by Kiwanis, a church or a friend.

May God bless and show compassion for all who are presently suffering because of this tragedy.
John L. Jaquet, past Club President
8563 El Paso Drive, Lake Worth, Fl 33467
Phone: work 561-394-8563
cell 561-543-1114

If anyone needs a place to stay and would like to take advantage of this offer, please email or call Mr. Jaquet or I, or reply to this post.

God Bless you all, and I hope you are doing well,
Jenny

Hurricane Katrina

Greetings all,

By now I'm sure that everyone has seen and heard of the devastation in Southern Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama from Hurricane Katrina. Due to the fact that I have no idea when I will be able to return to my house in New Orleans, I am back at home. If anyone needs me, please feel free to call me here at 252-261-1402, since New Orleans numbers obviously aren't working right now.

If you lived in the path of the rising waters and 150 mph winds as well, I'm so sorry. Nothing, in my mind, could have prepared us for this complete and total devastation. I know some of you have lost your homes, but I just pray that everyone is safe, and that you will all somehow find the strength to rebuild when the waters do eventually subside.

New Orleans has become a pathetic, toxic bowl of dirty water, destroyed homes, desperate people, and dangerous people who are sickeningly taking advantage of this crisis. It is a shell of what it once was, and who knows if that will ever be restored? For those of you who live in an area that wasn't affected by the storm, please pray for the city and it's residents, and please do anything you can to help, whether it's giving money, donating blood, donating supplies, or helping with the evacuees in your town.

Let's use this resource as a way to tell about our thoughts regarding this situation, and if you live in New Orleans, to let us know you are safe. On a more technical note, monthly reports are suspended until further notice. If you want to send it in and you are able to, great, but if not, of course that's fine, too.

Wishing you all the best in this horrible time,
Jenny

How to access Yahoo Groups

Hey guys,

For those of you who have questions about how to access Yahoo Groups, here are some step-by-step instructions:

1)Go to http://groups.yahoo.com/, or go to www.yahoo.com and click on groups.

2)Sign in on the right side with your yahoo ID, or create one if you don't have one.

3)IF you create an account because you don't have an account, make sure you enter your email address where you receive yahoo group emails as your alternate address.

4)After you're signed in, look on the left side. It should list all your groups. If you do not see lamisstenn, let me know if you would like to be added.

5)Click on lamisstenn. On the left side, click on Files. Then you should see registrations for District events and whatever other files you are looking for. If there is anything that's not there that you would like to see added, just let me know.

Please let me know if you are still having problems. I hope this helps!

Have a fabulous day!
